SERVING THE
SOUTH SIDE
Serving new arrivals. Serving long-time residents.
We’re challenging the narrative that pits long-time residents against new arrivals by working to build a city that cares for everyone, regardless of race, zip code, or immigration status.
We Keep Us Safe
The Trump administration has made Chicago “ground-zero” for its mass deportation campaign. Immigrants — documented and undocumented, long-time residents and new arrivals — are being targeted across our city.
But we have rights. Every month, we host Know Your Rights trainings to educate our community, bust common myths and misconceptions, and update immigrants and their allies on changes to immigration policy. When we know our rights, we can better protect ourselves and our loved ones from detention and deportation.

Share Know Your Rights Resources with Your Community
We have compiled Know Your Rights resources to help immigrant communities educate themselves on their rights and navigate encounters with immigration agents.
Donate to or Volunteer at Neighbors United for Mutual Support’s Legal Clinic
The team at the legal clinic will teach you how to assist immigrants with their asylum applications. Volunteers are also needed to print forms, make copies and deliver paperwork to immigration court. You can also donate money to help the clinic pay for immigrants’ filing fees (form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, costs $520 to file by paper and $470 to file electronically).
